5 Things To Check Before Booking A Cheap Stansted Airport To Cambridge Taxi
Check The Taxi Is Fully Licensed & Insured
Looking for the lowest price? This is the biggest mistake a traveler can make. Make sure a taxi company is licensed; it’s your safety net.Licensed drivers are vetted and insured. Licensed vehicles are subject to more frequent and rigorous MOT tests.
Confirm The Final Price (No Hidden Charges)
Often, the price you see on a search engine isn’t the final price. Some companies draw customers with a low base rate. Before booking, ask if the quote includes airport drop-off/pick-up fees, tax, and waiting time. Look for a fixed-price guarantee. Reputed companies offer an upfront cost with no hidden charges.
Understand Pickup & Waiting Policies at Stansted
When booking, clarify the pickup method. Professionals offer:
Meet and Greet: The driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign.
Curb-Side/Off-Site Pickup: You meet the driver at a designated point. It requires you to communicate via phone once you’ve cleared customs.
Flight Tracking: A reliable service will ask for your flight number to monitor delays in real-time.
Review the Vehicle Type & Luggage Capacity
The cheapest option is almost always a Standard Saloon. This may be good for a solo traveler with a backpack. However, if you are traveling with your family or a group, it can be a disaster. This is why always overestimate your luggage and members when booking your taxi. Book a slightly larger MPV upfront.
Read Real Customer Reviews (Not Just Star Ratings)
A good rating looks great at a glance, but not as you expected. Read reviews on Google that give you more insights about punctuality, communication, and cleanliness.
Why Pre-Booking A Stansted Airport To Cambridge Taxi?
Booking a taxi on the spot is almost alwayshigher than pre-booked private hire services.Pre-booking locks in the price, ensuring a vehicle is reserved specifically for you. This eliminates the surge pricing.
